Kuala Lumpur is home to many amazing properties with exquisite views. However, there is only one property with a rooftop infinity pool so famous, that people flock there just to take photos. The Face Suites Kuala Lumpur pool on the 51st floor is a true feast for the eyes and this amazing view of the Petronas Towers isn’t easy to compete with. This is why this pool is very high on the list for the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. We booked two weeks here and in this article, you will be able to find out everything you need to know if you decide to book an apartment in The Face Suites and its amazing pool!
The Face Suites – General Information
You’ll have a few different options for booking your stay at The Face Suites. You can opt to book a room/apartment on regular hotel booking sites, or head over to Airbnb (invite link)for some serious price cuts. We rented a huge 1 bedroom apartment for $850 for a two-week stay. This means we paid a mere $60 per night in one of KL’s most popular luxury hotels. Not too bad, right?
The apartment was self-serviced, which means it’ll basically be your home away from home. We went grocery shopping, did our laundry, cooked and watched TV on the sofa. It was so nice to be able to relax and not constantly depend on finding a restaurant to eat at.
All the rooms and apartments have a common lobby. Personally, I could just live in the lobby haha. So many comfortable sofas and it smells amazing in there! From the lobby, you’ll be able to reach all the amenities (pool, gym) and your room, only if you have a key card. You can not visit the pool if you’d have an access card. The pool at The Face Suites is for guests only.
It’s easy to access the Bukit Bintang shopping district from The Face Suites – you can either take a Grab Taxi (much cheaper than regular cabs) or walk for about 20-30min.
The Apartment
As I mentioned earlier, the apartment we rented was huge! I am not sure on the exact measurements, but I’d estimate it at around 80 sqm. We had a kitchen with an open plan living room, bedroom with a king bed, walk-in closet and bathroom. The apartment accommodates up to 4 guests (air mattress available) and also has access to the gym and the pool. They provided some basic kitchen utensils, pots, pans and plates and such. The place was sparkling clean and it was so easy to feel comfortable straight away!
My favourite part was the view though. I would just grab a coffee in the morning, sit on the sofa and watch the sky change colours and the cars drive by. So nice!
The Face Suites Infinity Pool – Access and Opening Hours
On the 51st floor of The Face Suites, you’ll be able to access the famous infinity pool and the (not so famous) gym. The pool at The Face Suites is for guests only and there is security guarding the doors at all times.
The infinity pool at The Face Suites is open daily from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm. The door is locked and guarded, so you will not be able to access it earlier or later. Keep also in mind that on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday they are cleaning the pool from 7.00 am to 8.30 am, therefore the swimming pool will only open after 8.30 am.
This cleaning fact surprised us quite a lot though, the pool was not properly cleaned in those two weeks we stayed there. Or perhaps there are just too many people there every day!
Besides swimming, the pool is famous for being one of the most Instagrammable spots in KL. A flock of people arrive for sunrise and sunset, so make sure you go as close to the edge as possible. This way you’ll avoid having people behind you in the shot. If you are feeling shy, then you’ll be able to take amazing photos throughout the day as well – the pool is not even nearly as busy as during the sunrise and sunset!
Gym
The gym at The Face Suites is great for those who like to get a bit of cardio done while travelling. It’s not so well equipped, but the space has an amazing view of the city and pool. This is great if you want to combine some healthy routines in your vacation!
I really loved the little working corner of the gym though. At the entrance, there are tables and sofas and you can easily sit down there and do some work. It is no secret that the infinity pool is why the majority of people book The Face Suites though.
Deep Blue Bar at The Face Suites Kuala Lumpur
We loved that we could just take the elevator to the top floor for cocktails anytime we wanted to. And compared to a lot of other bars in town, this place really serves good drinks, with an amazing view. The good thing about the bar & restaurant is that you don’t need to be a hotel guest to visit. And I really recommend you do, had one of the best mojitos there, ever.
