Finding a good budget hotel in London can be quite a challenge. When looking for a good London hotel on a budget I always keep three things in mind: location, breakfast and comfort. London is one of the best places in the world for shopping. So if you’re anything like me, you won’t spend a long time in your room. This is exactly why Point A Hotel Liverpool Street was the perfect budget hotel London choice for us! No extra unnecessary amenities, just providing us with a good night’s sleep, a clean room, great breakfast and a convenient location.
Point A Hotels – About this budget hotel London
When I go on a weekend or a shopping trip, I love staying in a no-fuss place. Point A Hotels are as straightforward as it gets. They have a few hotels scattered around the city, but I chose Liverpool Street for our stay due to its close proximity to the main shopping areas, as well as my personal favourite part of London – the East End.
Point A Hotel in Liverpool Street is located a mere 5-minute walk from Liverpool Street station. This station is one of the biggest transportation hubs in London and it’s also where you will arrive from Stansted Airport. We arrived quite late on our first day and really appreciated that we didn’t have to figure out how to get to the hotel after we left the airport train (Stansted Express).
The hotel is located in a really cosy street, where the modern and old are intertwined. What you will rarely see in a hotel in London, in general, is a backyard – and you bet Point A Hotel in Liverpool Street has it!
The Room
As I mentioned earlier, Point A Hotels are all about zero-fuss. They provide literally with everything you need and nothing you don’t. The rooms are compact, fresh and modern and the bathroom is clean and has a great power-shower. However, what I loved the most (and you don’t generally get that in a budget hotel in London) were the mood lights! They really transformed the room and made it even cosier.
Besides the comfy bed, you’ll even get a safe, AC, smart TV and hair-dryer. Even though there is no kettle in the room, the hotel has an amazing breakfast and you can easily take a coffee or tea to go.
Brekkie
Breakfast is buffet-style at Point A Hotels and WOW can we just talk about their granola and fresh fruit! You don’t often get this good breakfast in a budget hotel in London and it really made a huge difference for how the rest of the day will look like. The breakfast area is right by the reception.
What to do in the area
Point A Liverpool Street is about a 5-minute walk to my absolute favourite market and street in London, Brick Lane. Even though it is convenient to reach Oxford Street from here, you should spend some time discovering the area as well! Below are some favourite places you must visit if you’re staying in the east end:
- Brick Lane Market (a beigel is a must here!)
- Spitalfields Market
- Columbia Road Flower Market
- Whitechapel Gallery
- Victoria Park
No matter what you’re into, London has something for everyone. So no matter if you’re into spending your weekend spoiling yourself or are searching for free things to do – you’re bound to love the city!
